Dark Horse 1 was ground-breaking training, it had never been approached like this before. After a few months, we started to notice a few bugs and realized that we could do better. That’s what Dark Horse II is - a BETTER version.

One of the things we improved was that originally the equations built were based on work exclusively done on a treadmill… Well, that’s not ideal because as athletes we work on treadmills, ski-ergs, rowers and bikes. This changes the game considerably. So with Dark Horse II, we’ve taken athletes that were part of the program originally, and now get a look at them when they’re being tested not only on treadmills but also on this other devices, and so we’ve refined the program based on these findings. 

The battle of fatigue is being won with conviction, and on a more broad scale now with Dark Horse II.

What Causes Fatigue During CrossFit Workouts?

CrossFit workouts push the body from an aerobic into an anaerobic state, meaning you start to produce Lactate. 

Lactate has a pretty bad rep for causing muscle fatigue and soreness. However, Lactate is actually an incredible form of energy (it’s not a bad thing if your body can metabolize it properly and learn how to use it for fuel). If you can’t, you’re going to hit a hard wall in your workouts and get shut down.
